For the purpose of a quote, measure each perimeter deck run to the
nearest linear foot. If you have stairs that require railings, measure from the top deck edge nosing
to the lowest stair tread nosing. Be sure to indicate if you will require railings down both sides of the stair stringers
or just one side. Your layout drawing should clearly show all spans which DO NOT require railings. You will note in the
sample above we've used a double line to represent house structure.
