Step 12:
If stairs are part of your Dek Rail installation, you can run the main feed line down the top deck post and through the side so that the wire can continue down the stair anchor rail. In order to drill the side post hole in the correct location, you must first have the stair anchor rail installed in its final position. You may need to use a pair of needle nose pliers to fish the main feed wire through this side hole. When done, the hole and wire should not be above the raised center portion of the stair anchor rail. |

Step 13:
During your LED installation, it may not be possible to run one continuous main feed line through out the railings. If at any point the main feed line needs to be cut, join the ends together using standard wire connecters or marrettes. These should be of a suitable size to fit 2-12 gauge wires. Pay particular attention that the positive and negative sides of the main feed wire are maintained. To minimize bulk, orient the connections so that they are opposite each other as shown in the photo. Use some zip ties for this purpose. It is recommended to apply some electrical tape around the marrettes to ensure they don't loosen over time. |

Step 14: At the very end of the main feed line, you DO NOT connect the two wires together. These must remain separate as positive and negative in order for the LED tri-lights to work. Spread the wires apart, then cut one side shorter then the other and close off the ends using wire connectors of a suitable size. |

Step 15:
Remove the cover on the LED DC power unit case. Install the main feed wire up through the base hole on the unit. Attach the positive main feed wire to the positive output wire on the power pack. The positive wire on the power pack has dashed lines for clarification. Perform the same procedure for the negative wires. Use the supplied wire connectors for this purpose. Gently position the power pack, wiring and related connections down into the case and install the cover. It is recommended to turn on check that all LED tri-light units are working prior to and after the top rail has been installed. Enjoy your new custom and fully integrated, Dek Rail, LED lighting. |
