SDek Rail - Built-in LED lighting installation Page 2
Step 4: Insert your led up through the hole from the underside of the anchor rail. Since the led shaft is 1/4 inch, you may need to wiggle the light a bit while pushing upward to send the shaft through. Do not drill a hole any larger then 1/4 inch or the leds flange will not be large enough to mate with the underside of the anchor rail.
Step 5: Hold a block of wood tight against the underside of the anchor rail in the light location. This will place pressure on the leds flange and keep it in position. At the same time, place the supplied speed nut retainer over the lights shank and press down using a closed socket wrench in a 5/16 inch size. It is important to push the speed nut down evenly so as to not distort the ring. The speed nuts raised gripping teeth should be facing up when installed.
Step 6: With your lights now installed, they should be firmly in place pointing downward and square to the anchor rail. This ensures the beam pattern for the leds will be consistant throughout the railing.
Step 7: To ensure the lights remain tight over time, apply a healthy ring of clear silicone around the lights shank. Be sure the silicone hits all three parts - the light shank, the speed nut and the anchor rail. Once the silicone cures, it will prevent the speed nut from ever loosening. Use of the silicone is not meant to waterproof the hole or any parts as this is a non issue. The lights are already 100 % water proof.
